2024 has cemented the idea that even after being in quarantine, people still want to enjoy every square inch of their homes, and a patio helps make the backyard a more practical retreat for dining, entertaining and even exercise and play. More than ever, people yearn to make their homes functional and inviting, with the backyard becoming a key focal point.
At SEQ Patio Group, we take pride in our ability to transform outdoor spaces into practical retreats tailored to our clients’ needs. Whether creating the perfect setting for alfresco dining, hosting gatherings with friends and family, or providing a versatile space for exercise and play, our recent projects reflect our commitment to enhancing the outdoor living experience.
Take a glimpse at some of our latest transformations, completed towards the end of 2023 and continuing throughout 2024, and discover how we’ve helped homeowners realise the full potential of their outdoor areas.
Newport – Insulated Fascia-Fixed Patio
It only takes a few square metres of patio cover to make a huge difference. Our Newport client had a small deck area she wanted to make more usable for when the sun was out. We designed and built this compact, insulated patio to add ample shade over the alfresco area while working with the architectural features of the building itself, like the lip you can see in the before image. That lip gave us a limit on how tall we could make the patio; to counter this, we decided on a white ceiling colour to make it feel more spacious underneath. The end result is the perfect extension to host a few friends or enjoy an afternoon cuppa.
Elimba – Insulated, Fascia-fixed Patio
This client had a lovely wooden deck area out the front of their house, which he found he wasn’t using as much as he wanted to. That’s where SEQ Patio Group came in to design and build this insulated, L-shaped patio. Now, our client can enjoy a bit of sun while out on the lawn and can retreat to the shade whenever he pleases. The L-shape of the patio also helps him navigate around the perimeter of his home without stepping out into the elements in the case of rain. The patio cover will also help protect those wooden boards from sun and water damage.
Caboolture – Pool Freestanding Patio
When our client found she was only swimming during the times of the day when the sun was low, she decided that a pool patio cover would give her more opportunities to swim without exposing herself to the sun’s rays. This Caboolture client asked us to build a patio cover that stretched across the entirety of this beautiful, in-built concrete pool. SEQ Patio Group drew up the plans and ensured everything complied with the pool safety standard requirements. Now, our client can enjoy a dip whenever she pleases, making the most out of her pool investment and enjoying spending more time outdoors with a lower sun risk.
Mount Cotton – Flyover, Insulated Patio
This client had a nice spot of lawn beside their pool that they wanted to make more usable for Friday afternoon gatherings and nighttime BBQs. To ensure the weather never rained on their parade, they called SEQ Patio Group to draw up the designs for this flyover patio. We opted for a flyover design because the client still wanted plenty of natural light to make its way under and keep that patch of lawn happy and green, but they still wanted proper protection from rainfall, plus a bit of dedicated shade. The end result speaks for itself. We turned this small patch of lawn into the go-to hangout spot when the mates come over, so they don’t have to firm the sun while they watch the kids have a paddle in the pool.
Palmwoods – Non-insulated Patio
Our team was absolutely thrilled with the results of our project: a Stratco non-insulated, fascia-fixed patio! This structure serves a dual purpose, providing shelter for a ‘people with disabilities’ art group while also offering convenient parking and access to the front door, shielded from the elements.
We take immense pride in our contribution to making this facility more accessible. Additionally, by offering outdoor shade, we enable individuals to unleash their creativity without being subjected to the sun’s harsh rays. It’s incredibly rewarding to play a part in fostering an inclusive and comfortable environment for all.
Kippa-Ring Flyover, Non-Insulated Patio
This home had a lovely outdoor deck that ran alongside their home just beside the fenceline, which they wanted to spend more time on. The main problem was that it was very close to the side boundary of the property, meaning they’d need additional approvals from the council to get the go-ahead. When they discovered that SEQ Patio Group could handle all council approvals for them, they didn’t hesitate to call us and discuss their dream patio goals. We got on the phones, got the approvals sorted and were able to build this stunning cover along the side of their home.
Pimpama – Flyover Insulated Double Carport
This Stratco-insulated flyover carport was chosen because the client wanted to free up some garage space without subjecting their vehicles to harsh UV exposure. Insulated carport panels were installed to add to the overall look, as our client wanted a feature that was complementary to their building’s facade.
Petrie – Freestanding Pool Patio
We just put the finishing touches on a fantastic project: a sleek, freestanding pool patio cover in Petrie for our clients. They were longing for a tranquil retreat by the pool, away from the scorching sun. With this new addition, they have the best of both worlds – a shady sanctuary to unwind in or an open space to bask in the sunshine, depending on their mood. It’s the perfect spot for lazy afternoons by the water, refreshing dips, or simply lounging with a good book.
Insulated Flyover Patio on Risers
Impressed by the craftsmanship displayed in two previous projects for the property’s previous owner, the new owner entrusted us to bring the same level of quality and elegance to her space. She recognised our dedication to excellence and attention to detail and eagerly anticipated enhancing her property into a haven of beauty and functionality. With this vote of confidence, we embarked on a journey to surpass her expectations, ensuring that every aspect of our work reflected the distinctive charm and character she envisaged for her home.
